Where’s Your Home Business Going in 2012?

Okay, we are now about 2 weeks into the new year… so how ya doing?

Do you have “real” plans on taking steps foward, growing your business, charging up your downline, increasing your business volume?

Or, if you’re like most network marketers, you drive in your car or lie in bed at night and just dream of what it would be like… but those dreams never really pan out. They’re like day dreams or wishes.

How can 2 people start the same year, 2012, make it through the full year, and yet one is no farther along that he was when the year started, and the other has seen exponential growth. Their monthly commission checks are growing and growing and growing???

Let me give you an analogy. Last year in January I stepped on the bathroom scale and I weighed in at about 300 lbs!!! Yikes! I was unhealthy, fat, and heading south. I had to make a change.

For too many years I drove in the car or lay in bed at night dreaming of a leaner me. But nothing ever changed.

Until last January 2010.

I made a decision I had to change. I started on Weight Watchers. I began walking and hiking. And then, I began to run.

But I did this all with a goal. In January 2010 I bought a Runners World magazine. In that magazine was an advertisement for the San Antonio Rock-n-Roll Half Marathon. That was my goal.

I had not run in years, and I was about 100 pounds over weight. I formulated a plan.

I was going to use Weight Watchers as my vehicle for losing weight, relearning how to eat with better portion sizes and smarter food choices. It worked. Over the course of the year, I lost 53 pounds. I am still on that journey with new goals as 2012 gets started.

I began walking and hiking for 9 weeks to get some muscle built up in my legs. Then, on April 1st I began running. I could only run for 2 minutes, and then walk 2 minutes. I thought I was gonna die. But, that 2 minutes became 3, then 4, then 6, then 10, then 20, then, by Memorial Day I had reached the 5K distance (3.1 miles.).

I ran my first 5K in 31:52. I ran another 5K in June at 29:07. I began building up my distance, and then ran a 10K in September. I began stretching myself, until finally, on November 13, 2011, I ran the San Antonio Half Marathon in 2 hours 15 minutes.

I stopped dreaming and wishing, and made a decision. I then made a plan and followed it through. It was tough. I had to relearn many things. Running wasn’t always easy, but from April to December I logged about 425 miles.

Listen, if a fat tub of goo like I was, can drop 53 pounds and run a half marathon, you can do anything you want.

It all starts with a decision. That decision must be followed by a plan of action that will take you on a journey.

By the end of the year, you will look in the mirror and see a totally new and different person than what you see in the mirror now.

Go do something HUGE!!
